Like the plant label idea, I had 2 separate / new sets of visitors (friends of friends) to my garden this weekend - and there were a few plants I couldn't name, despite planting it all up from scratch these past 2-3 years .
I saw the plant label pencil advice earlier in the year and tried it....it works. I by accident put some jeans in the wash with a label with pencil and you could still read it after the wash....seems better than indelible ink. I think it has to be a proper graphite pencil.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
Like many, I've given you the benefit of the doubt since your return, but clearly leopards don't change their spots, so I'll pop you into the handy ignore section and I'll be unable to quote or misquote you again.

No such thing around these parts HF.
My mum swears by lollipop sticks and a biro.
nor here PP. but OH gets them when he's " up country"
Pencil's the only thing that lasts for me - rain washes off permannet markers within a year
My sister brought me little plant last year with a lovely label - a wooden clothes peg clipped on to the pot!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
