Yes char, viola/pansy. I'm only guessing from the shape of the leaves.

Are the strawberries supposed to be blue by any chance? We had another poster asking for an ID on Chinese seeds from eBay and guess what? They were all weeds.

Can't see the front row clearly enough to say what they might be. A bonsai tree is no different to a large tree other than it's kept small by careful pruning and restricting the roots. No special bonsai seed I'm afraid.

My gut feeling is that they may be duds, sorry image

I'm on a tablet hollie so use pinch and zoom. The problem is my eyes, I should have named myself Mrs Magoo not Kitty image image

the two on the left at the front aren't any sort of tree seedling.

The ones that look like sweet peas probably are, the pansy is a pansy. The fluffy red ones might be celosia.

    tbh I'd dump the rest

  • Hi hollie hock.. there is quite a few sweetpeas, but I am aware these may have missed flowering for this year, here is a pic of the larger ones, let me know what you think their chances are? image

Better pic of the bushy little things, they are more purple than red tbh!

I also have some very odd flat things growing, which I'm very suspicious of if you guys wouldn't mind taking a look....

  • anyways.. gutted I've wasted good pot space and soil growing so many weeds this year image

I'll be labelling as I go for sure next year !

I'll get a few pics of the Ebay mysteries once they've had time to develop a little more, I've had a quick read of a few pages Kitty 2 re the 'Bonsai' tree, maybe I'll just go right ahead and... grow a tree! cos it defiantly all sounded a little complicated for my liking image

    Thank again all!

That last pic is liverwort, grows on damp surfaces. I rather like it!

Hi char, now I've seen the bigger pic of the purple fluffy ones I agree with nut's ID of celosia.

Sweet peas: I sow mine in March but I know some folk sow in autumn and overwinter the plants. If you have somewhere sheltered to keep them, like a cold frame they might work like that. Never done it so I'm only guessing.

Seeds: Lesson learned the hard way image  Next time buy from reliable sources, it doesn't have to be expensive, I picked up some seeds in wilko this weekend reduced to 50p. There is also a seed swap page on the forum.

Bonsai involves too much effort for me, there's a 'Bonsai Mark' on here who may help if you're still interested.

    Happy growing ??
