Badly overgrown garden

My apologies if this is in the wrong place. I've came here looking for help. I may be moving to a new home and looking for advice on how to clear the garden if I move there. It's completely overgrown and needs some attention. I have a little girl who loves to play outside as well so would like somewhere for her to play. I would like to know how big a job this is, if it can be done on my own, how long it would take and what I need to do to get it sorted. The back garden isn't too bad but the front garden and path leading up to the house is really bad.

Difficult to say when so much depend on how much energy and time you have and whether or not you have any garden knowledge or experience.

Break it down into manageable tasks - clear obvious rubbish like the mattress and lumps of wood and old fence; buy, hire or borrow a strimmer to cut the overgrown grass to a mowable length; cut back any brambles or nettles that might scratch or sting your child and teach her not to touch plants till she knows they're safe.

Then assess what you have and what you want to keep or introduce to make a haven for you and your family and your friends to play and socialise.    Come back here with updates and more to get specific advice when we can all see what you have.
