Compost in pots loses its food value after 90 days so your bulbs have probably been starved enough to prevent them forming flower buds.   It is usual to put bulbs form pots out in the garden where they can access a decent supply of nutrients and you use freshly bought bulbs for next year's pots.

Whether you plant them out or not, water them with a solution of tomato food at least once a week till their foliage dies down completely - at least 6 weeks after flowering.  This will give them a chance to store enough energy for flowers.  Once the foliage has turned brown you can remove it.

  • Dear Sir/Madam,

I am the very lucky winner of the "Gardeners Beehive competition" In your information regarding the content of the winning prize it states: see below.

We have one prize available to win, comprising of a Gardeners' Beehive, including bee bio symbiotic mulch, swarm lure, roof and two honey boxes, worth £373.

I have received all the above with the exception of the "2 Honey Boxes". With the honey boxes the prize is worth £373. However, the company is advertising the "Gardeners Beehive" without the honey boxes at £185 plus P&P at a further £27 making £212.

I am not making a complaint, but does the prize include 2 honey boxes worth £161 less P&P for the honey boxes ? If so can you please forward me the honey boxes.

Hello Brian, thank you for getting in touch. Just to let you know we've removed the contact details you provided in your message, as this is a public forum accessible by anybody. I've forwarded your message to my colleague Rory, who manages competitions on the site, and he'll pick this up with you over email.
