  • Thoroughly enjoyed the show tonight (and last night ) current favourites (I know, early days) Will Young, Louise Rednapp and Greg Rutherford. image

Watched both shows tonight. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more of Judge Rinder, Will Young and the long jumper. I normally fast forward through everyone's comments apart from Craig.

i record it now so that i can skip through when tess is talking as i find her very annoying and the way she announces each 'cupple'

my husband announced tonight as it was starting some showbiz gossip, it went like this.... "she has split up with her husband vernun! she's been having an affair with john tickle (maths brain & presenter) you know!"

" she's got a nerve after giving vernun a roasting for sexting that girl a few years ago" i said outraged

"can you imagine if they get married"  he stated all straight faced

then the penny dropped.....  Tess Tickle  Doh he got me good and proper this time, we joke about her and john tickle every year and i had completely forgotten about it this year

  • After deciding I would give it a miss until the dross had gone the urge took over and on it went, quite a shock really. Trying hard not to watch feet shoulders head, the points dancers look for, but failing, Fridays dancers were very much better than expected, Saturdays dancers apart from one or two were even better. Of course there were foot faults and mistakes, going on that floor and having to perform a solo dance must be heart stopping for some, having to step out and lead off the dancers as my Wife and I often did always raised the blood pressure a bit, it is hard though most managed to pull it off. I am with Len, fancy tricks head stands and swinging on ropes is not dancing as we know it, and that Friday night Tango???? If that was a Tango I will stand on my head and spin round. The sexiest Tango I ever saw were two elderly Spanish people doing a slow Tango to "La Paloma, the Dove" they brought the place to a standstill watching them, that was a Tango. It is so easy to criticise although what would they be like stepping on to the floor under lights camera's with a real expert partner and then perform perfectly, methinks they would also panic. Bring it on, sit back and enjoy as like cream the real dancers will rise to the top.

There was some very good dancing on both Friday and Saturday and no complete plonkers tho I would have expected a better jive from the long jumper - he has the leg strength so how hard can it be to remember to lift his knees and point his toes for 90 seconds?   Even Ed Balls managed some heel leads in his waltz so it is possible to learn some technique in 3 weeks!

Thought the judging was uneven and have to wonder where they're going to go with the dancers likely to make the most improvement and who've already had an 8.   Agree with Len about the gymnastics - show dance territory at the end maybe but not this early.

Good musicians and singers.   Good presenting from Tess and Claudia whose quirkiness is lovely.

Good start.   Let's hope they all keep it up.
