aster or michaelmas daisy

I have some Aster Duchess flowers I wish to enter in our local Horticultural show. Does anyone know whether they should be classified as michaelmas daisy, or should they be entered as an annual? I'm afraid I looked on RHS website but am even more confused!!! Thank you

They are an annual whereas Michaelmas daisies are perennials.
