Fuschia Gall Mite

I live in the Channel Islands where wild fuschia abounds. My Dad has left me in charge of the garden while he is away. Our fuschia hedge has just been struck by what looks to be fuschia gall mite (deformed pink leaves with little pink growths on the underside) and its spreading like wildfire. Has anyone got any suggestions.

This is Fuchsia Gall mite damage but from your description I'm not sure if this is what is affecting your fuchsias. Can you confirm this is your problem please.
The deformity is similar, but it is pink in colour.
The mite is too small to see with the naked eye so I would pick off infected leaves and destroy them. RHS recommend digging up all infected bushes and destroying them to prevent its spread to other gardens. Apparently it was only found on the UK mainland in 2007 and there is no treatment available. Thats why I wanted to be sure it is what is affecting your plants
