Cuttings flopping over

I've got some cuttings of penstemon in a pot with John innes compost, but they are beginning to flop, does anybody know why this is and will they recover?

Give them a good water.Let the excess drain through, put a pop bottle or plastic cover over to cut down transpirational loss, and put in the shade.

  • thanks for that reply, I'll do that, hopefully it won't be too late for them.

    if they're flopping, maybe ( can't tell without a photo ) they're too long.

I usually leave just a couple of pairs of leaves, sometimes even cutting bigger leaves in half.
