Cold Frames

im looking to buy a cold frame and would appreciate some reccomendations. I've never had one before but ive started to propagate my own plants and need somewhere to put them over winter as I don't have a greenhouse yet.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

Hi Bright star. I bought one along with my greenhouse from Elite Greenhouses, Bolton.
I got a pretty cheap one from a garden centre and it was rubbish - lasted a season! So don't fall into that trap - the one I made with bricks and an old window frame was better!
I have a cheap one from the garden centre and they do only last 1 season. Mines completely battered as its gets very windy over winter. It also had to be in a fairly sheltered spot in the garden to not blow away.
I made mine using old window frames and they did me very well till I reorganised my garden work area and got rid. Since then I've used old glass shelves I got from a shop that was closing down and old glass shelves from a fridge when it died.
If you google "make a cold frame" you'll find some good advice about how to make one which will let you select the size that suits you and probably save you money too.
Thanks guys! I was looking at an elite one earlier also a Gabriel ash, both look quality products. It sounds as though it's worth spending a bit more if you want it to last, I'm not handy enough to make my own so its spending time.
Definitely worth paying the money Bright star.
