Many Indian recipes call for fresh curry leaves.
What is the plant and can we grow it in this country?
There are quite a few curry leaf plants but I think that the most often used is the one in this link:

That looks like the one that Indian and Sri Lankan friends use Ladybird. Think they buy them i packs, sort of semi-dried from Indian supermarkets.

Looks like a greenhouse job. I wonder if it would do as a house plant
