What is this?
This started growing in my pots.....think it may be from my homemade compost. It looks like a bean....but I didn't plant any. It's next to toms & squash or melon.....that I also didn't plant!! Getting more from my compost on its own than from seeds planted!
can anyone I'd it? It's got v soft downy leaves, heart/shield shaped ones in pic.
thank you!

It looks like a selection of plants there - I can see possible tomatoes, potatoes, squash and beans, not to mention one or two others.

Indeed.....like I said in my post, random stuff also growing in the pot (Including toms & squash!)....it's the heart shaped leaf plant that I can't id.
Think that's the possible beans
but possibly potatoes
You'll have to wait and see how it develops.

My compost usually produces tomatoes, forget-me-nots and verbena bonariansis - but last year we also had a huge Crown Prince type squash!

wow, dovefromabove!! i'm impressed! i'm just a little worried that I may be growing something invasive (checked Japanese knot weed - pretty sure it's not that!!). doubt it's produce owt at this late stage of the year, sadly!!
That's the problem - they wait until it gets warm before the seeds in the compost germinate - then it starts to get cooler again so the peg out. Flipping tropical types eh!?
