Mmm, but so much less entertaining than the guy who strapped a jet engine to the roof of his car to make it go faster

Blowing a gale here but no rain at the moment. Mild at 16c!  Fed up with the continuous wind and rain.

  • The wind was either stronger this time or (more likely) from a slightly different direction. Had a bit of clearing & tidying to do  also had to re-position corrugated sheets on my shed roof. They are only held down with bricks & bits of broken paving slabs as the main roof is asbestos cement & I did not want to drill into it. Mind you I was luckier than some others. One greenhouse was upended- odd as there was no glazing in it at all- I think the chap was in the process of putting it up so it was not fixed down- he will have to start again. Several peoples compost bin lids have gone missing. Wonder if we will ever find them? Lots of puddles & standing water on various plots.

Still we have got away lightly compared to some parts of the country.

Stockton on Tees, a gentle rain not much breeze and warm at 6 C. Looks as if it is set for the day.

  • Dull wet start but drying & brightening up a bit now. Ground will still be far too wet to do anything though.

Ian R,  Mud mud glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood, follow me follow, down to the hollow and there we will wallow in glorious mud.

They did write a song about it.
