    It was quite a distance from any private but i know where there is some. So back it goes !

    Ladybird a lovely photo , never seen one as big as this.

    Sounds like it's already full grown and has left its foodplant to find somewhere to pupate, hence trying to bury itself in the soil of the container you put it in.
