These two plants are growing in and near a ditch in my daughter's horses field.

    Himalayan balsam.

    Considered an invasive weed and best to get rid.

    But the seed-pods do explode wonderfully when ripe

    I'm not sure but I think that might be Himalayan Balsalm. Terribly invasive stuff

    They pull out very easily, but sometimes snap in the process, it's still easy to pull the roots up. Try and dispose of the plants in the general rubbish or burn asap before they set seed.
    They spread like widfire
