Helebores

I  have moved a hellebore 3 years ago it is in a border in partial shade, and has not flowered since. The plant has healthy green leaves each year.

Advice would be welcome on how long to leave it before I give up.

It should flower, it likes shade. I've never had one not flower for three years. You could try feeding it.

Thank you I have fed the plant the same as the other plants in the border they are flowering and thriving.

  • Hi Lynne. I agree with Verdun. They are notorious for sulking after being moved, especially when well established. Pamper it in the Autumn with a good dose of muck, make sure it doesn't dry out and your plant should reward you with flowers in the spring. If there are lots of healthy leaves, it sounds like it is gearing up for a show!

Thank you all for the advice I will be patient and give a good mulch in autumn. LYNN 86
