Can anyone identify this plant please? It is approximately 4 feet tall and was purchased from a supermarket many years ago.

Thank you for your prompt reply. The wife always wondered what it was called.
Glad I could be of service Dennis, mine has been ravaged by aphids this year! I love it for it's late and exotic flowering.
Loves full sun and moist soil, pruning group 1 only very light if at all.
Many thanks Mark. Ours is lovely but blooms for only a short time but I now know I need to water it more in hot weather.
