moving house/moving garden
We are moving house in September and after tending my English Cottage Garden for 30 years I wondered if any one could give me any ideas or tips on if and what I might be able to take with me?

As long as you let the buyers know you intend to take plants with you, you can take whatever you can move, but it is important to let them know. Collect seeds, pot up favourites that will be easy to move. Take cuttings of any plants it would be hard to move. What are the plants you thinking of taking?
Me too so I've been potting up plants, cuttings and divisions since spring and will be taking divisions of other treasures in September but not now while it's hot and they're in full flow. I'm also collecting seed.
As Ladybird says, in the UK you sell your garden and its contents with the house so need to inform the buyers of any plants you wish to keep and make sure you don't leave a garden full of holes.
Anything in pots you are free to take. Anything which was actually planted in the garden at the time the purchasers viewed it should only be removed with their express agreement.
When we moved to our current house the vendor said they were leaving a large pond pump (not a plant I know), but when we came to use it I discovered he had removed it and replaced it with a cheap one which wasn't up to the job. I could have pursue it but didn't. Simply mentioned it to my new neighbours who, sadly, weren't in the least surprised!
Thank you all for your excellent tips. I have some of my favourites now potted up and will take those plants I have in pots. I have also collected some seeds from perennial favourites. I have left no holes and with our extra tall everything after our wet and humid Summer will need to spend the time before the move tidying and trimming. It's a jungle out there!
I dug up quite a few plants and took them with me when we moved house, but I did tell the buyers in advance.
