Instant coverage

Looking for instant coverage, part of hedge died off, leaving a gaping hole garden centres don't seem to supply height. Any ideas welcome.

You can get instant hedges from some suppliers but you will pay through the nose for height. (Google "Instant hedge" to see what's available). If you are willing to put up with something a little shorter, it won't cost an arm and a leg and the plants should establish more easily.
If the rest of the hedge is on its way out, dig the lot out then look at planting something completely different, if it's only the one section dig out the soil and replace with fresh soil, but ask yourself why is it dying, ...... A good tip a 4ft conifer will reach 8ft faster then a 6ft conifer. The smaller tree gets established quicker.
