Laying new turf
Hi All, Hoping you can help, I am attempting to lay new turf for the first time. I've attempted to take up all the old lawn and the problem I'm having where the old owner had a stone section at the top of the garden there are loads of stones within the soil, will the cause an issue going forward as if I try to get rid of them i'll have to dig quite deep. Trying to get the finished as a surprise for my 2 young daughters coming home from holiday this sat (27.8.16) Any help would be appreciated!!

There are some useful articles & video's tucked away on the main website (not forum) which you might find helpful such as:

Looking at your photo's I'd probably try and pick some of the bigger stones out but not worry too much assuming that you spread the remaining stones around a little across your area rather than leave them in a concentrated spot.
You'll need to be quite generous with the water at this time of the year to stop the turfs shrinking and leaving gaps. Make sure you get a nice consistently firm base or you'll end up with dips and depressions.
Good luck.
