Runner Beans

  My runner beans are grown in pots and grow well and I get lovely flowers and then quite a lot of beans but the whole plant dies back quite early (finished already) although other gardens along here are still in flower and still have lots of fruit.  What am I doing wrong?

  Thank you for your response, I will try next year.  It is a huge pot, i used to grow potatoes in it, so it is deep but perhaps it is the soil.  Many thanks.  Jackie
