Euonymus europaeus

i have a Euonymus europaeus that I planted last year. This year it has flowered but the fruits did not develop. There were stalks, but no fruit. Can anyone please tell me why? Do I need another shrub to cross pollinate? would it be birds, insects. .? Thank you

I think they're pollinated by flying things. You don't need a male and female.
I've had years with no berries but I don't know if it's weather or lack of flies at flowering time which may come down to the same thing
In the sticks near Peterborough
It just needs to grow...needs to be a bit older. It will fruit in the next year or two, depending on how old it was when you planted it.
Thank you....
