Issue with my tomatoes

So yeah i have got these tomatoes growing and the fruits look good but the plant itself looks like its dying. Timageimagehe leaves are going yellow then brown and then falling off. Anyone know what might be going on? Some say this is normal late in the season but a google search can yield contradicting results. I feed them with tomorite twice a week but im worried if theres too many leaves dropped the fruits will die off.

Its normal, you need to be deleafing your plants now so that the fruits get the sun and also to encourage more flowers..

Looks like a bit of blight there.  It's getting a bit late now to be encouraging more flowers and fruit.  Usually at this time of year, August, I remove the flowers as they won't make it to maturity.

Hi Michael - are the plants unsupported? That could have caused a bit of damage to stems because of the weight - the foliage would die back quicker then.

I'd remove a good bit of that anyway. If the fruits are ok it'll  help air circulation and allow light in to them. You  might have to keep an eye on them and remove  fruit if necessary and ripen indoors. It's a management situation now. image

I wouldn't allow any further flowers either - too late. I've already removed quite a lot of new ones - they'd never make it to fruiting stage here.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks for the advice, I am going to remove some of the foliage and hope it does the trick

Start by removing all the dead branches.  There are a lot there.

Mine have gone like that too all of a sudden, I assumed it's becasue they are coming to the end of the season and I've cut them right back. I think in a week or two they will be done.

Deleafing is working for me.. I don't deflower at all,as at the end of the growing season green fruits will still ripen up inside... I am often still picking in early October if its mild..
