Plant I.D.

Himagei,

My friend gave me this plant as a seedling, telling me it was a sprout. She did get the seed packets from China, but this doesn't look much like a sprout to me!

Anyone able to help with I.D. and what I can/cannot do with it?!

Thanks.

it's not a Brussels sprout but it's in the brassicas family.

Some seeds with the word sprout in the name are 'sprouting seeds' you eat the  sprouted (germinated) seeds when the shoots are small. grown in jars.

As nut says, it's some sort of brassica (cabbage family), but to all intents, it's a weed.
You wont get anything off this that will go with your Christmas dinner I'm afraid
