Mystery Moth in garden foliage
I moved it out of the foliage & it settled quite naturally into this 'open' position: actual size about 3cm across. (note swept back antennae - is this usual?).
Any ideas as to species? [I'm in coastal SW Wales].

Its The Small Magpie Moth
Small Magpie I think
In the sticks near Peterborough
Looks like a Small Magpie to me, was a little confused by the blue hue to the wings, but I guess there was a light source used on the camera, which is reacting with iridescence of the scales.
Sheps...
Snap!!!
Looks like it's conclusive, David
Thanks for your 'unanimous' responses, Ladybird4, Nutcutlet & Sheps!! Terrific response times!!, (as ever). *Yes, I did use flash when I went indoors - else the fluorescent overhead would have given a very different rendition of the kitchen wall as background (primrose, I think!). [Note to self: full flash can be a bit overpowering at close quarters for detailed insect/ flower photography].
These turn up in the moth trap from time to time, never seen one otherwise
