working with roses
can any one tell me is there a product on the market that you can spray on your hands which will protect you from the thorns on rose plants as I'm fed up going home with cuts and bits in my finger tips.
yes I know there are such things as gloves and of course I do own many different types but trying to tie the roses to the wire is darn near impossible they are wonderful plants they look great smell nice but I have to say those blooming thorns hurt like hell if only lol!

The thinner gloves are not thorn proof so guess you will have to soldier on.
Bulkerb, they've yet to make Kevlar gloves. Being a gardener means living with the thorns, stings, cuts and bruises etc as part of the job. Hard hands is the best defence as well as being careful. A bit of pain never killed anyone.
This year I was detemined to dig mine all out (the guy here before me was a rose nut and there are thirty odds if I remember right) and then they flowered.
They really are beautiful...but oh the pain!
