Hi
a friend of mine has been growing his lettuce for the last 8 weeks and they are all the same size can anyone help

that looks a bit like lollo rosso, if it is they don't get very big and they don't make a heart like an iceberg would, they are classed as loose leaf.
I agree, looks like lollo rosso. If you want to grow a large, crunchy, tight-headed lettuce, iceberg types are reliable and easy to grow.
