Just been checking my cabbages for slugs and snails when I found a small green caterpillar and these (pls see pictures). I presume they are from the green caterpillar but are they eggs? my cabbages are in raised beds under a fine netting. what would the advice be if they are eggs?

Thank you for any answers in advance.

Butterflies lay eggs, they become caterpillars which eat and s...t, which is what that is.

The butterflies must have got inside your netting.

Pick the caterpillars off and give the cabbages a blast with the hosepipe.

No there is not much damage. I was thinking of washing the eggs off the cabbages with a horse pipe but was worried that the eggs will still hatch When left on the soil.

Fidgetbones there were only two cateppilars in this bed and they are dead now. I will try washing the eggs off.

Thank you you for your advices.

they're not eggs, they're caterpillar droppings

Once you've sanitised your cabbages by removing the caterpillar manure, keep an eye out for new eggs on the leaves. They will be small yellow dots and are easily picked off the plant......look every day if you have time so that you don't get any more caterpillars munching through your crop.
