Hi chrissie. That will be enough. The heel shuffle was what my brother and I did before building my greenhouse but I did lay flags as the base for mine, the base that came with the greenhouse was then screwed into the flags.

My greenhouse is on a concrete base. It makes for a cleaner environment in my opinion. If you are going to make use of the soil in your greenhouse I would not compact it too much.

It depends on what the sub-soil is where you live.
I'm in Essex on clay and also having a g/house base put down next month. Clay is the worst.
The builder will level the area then use a rammer to compact the soil, then pour 4" concrete and also use steel re-inforcing in the concrete.
