  I have grown one in a large pot some yrs ago.
  The root system on these plants is big, so it will outgrow pots quickly. 
  Mine died after a few yrs. but done ok until the stems got thick and woody.

  So it may not work long term, but you could try.
  They're easy to train any direction you like, it's more of a challenge keeping it under control.
  I've got a well established one on wires just outside the lounge planted in a border, very pretty and very sweet scent on a warm evening
