Photinia 'Little Red Robin'
Hi all, i'm very new to gardening, and a bit stuck lol.
I have potted a Photinia 'Little Red Robin', it has grown about 4 - 6 " in about 8wks, now a couple of leaves look a bit shrivelled, have used a all purpose feed on it,its in a bright area, watered each day.
What to do with it over winter? do I need to trim it back ( it only has 4 'branches') and do I need to use a different feed?
Like I said very new too gardening lol

Hi Tracy. Do you mean it has grown 4-6 inches on top of its original growth or is it only 4-6 inches tall?
Be careful with your watering Tracy- it sounds like it could be waterlogged. Only water when the plant looks a bit wilted, or the compost/soil is dry below the top inch or so. It's a case of using judgement.
It does depend on the size of pot and the plant of course, and also where you have it. A small pot with a young plant will dry out more quickly and suffer from too much sun, but anything sited in hot sun in a pot will dry out quicker than it would in the ground.
Feeding isn't necessary unless it's been in the pot for a long time without refreshing/replacing any of the soil. If it's only been there for 8 weeks, there should be plenty of nutrition left in the soil/compost it already has
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
