Almond tree issue

Hi, I have amber like sap oozing from two cracks/holes in my Almond trees main stem. Any ideas what this is? I've never grown a nut tree before so apologies if it is something obvious.

Does the rest of the tree show any signs of ill health?
Thanks for the replies, there is no other signs of illness. In fact it is a very healthy looking 3 year old tree, just these two horrible looking oozing cracks.
It is sat in a south facing garden with a lot of Sun, so perhaps that did the damage.
Either way, seems I just need to keep an eye on it and hope it heals at this stage. Fingers crossed.
