It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Calendula.

  • Ooooh! I was hoping someone would say calendula!

I would even go so far as to say Calendula officinalis. A k a pot marigold.  The petals are edible and can be added to salad, or will colour rice as fake saffron.

  • Oh goodie!  That's awesome, I have just bought calendula officinalis seeds to grow next year and I thought the ones I already have looked the same but wanted confirmation from more knowledgable gardeners!! I'm going to harvest some petals today for a homemade project my daughter and I are going to do! image

Many thanks to to you all!

  • They are beautiful Patsy, I love the colour variations!  Very quickly becoming one of my favourite plants!

We live in an old rented property with mature cottage-style gardens and I've noticed these little jewels for the last couple of years but haven't known what they are - so pleased I now know!!

I've just been reading up on the medicinal properties - they are truly amazing plants!
