In a scenario where everyone is being paid the same - some seem to get by doing the bare minimum whilst others strive to go the extra mile and help their colleagues too.
For the team workers - the 'tea round' slackers should be named and shamed!
Special respect points to Punkdoc and Lou12 for the NHS 'experience' .
Works one long coffee break person...we have one who is constantly getting up to make everyone a brew and makes it an issue if you say no...I" ve taken to having a bottle of water on the desk at all times so there's no grief when I say no...
My missus came home recently with steam coming out of her ears. She's known as the person to go to if there is a build up of work elsewhere and she has any available time to help. She was asked if she would help another section out, and as always she said she would. She doesn't mind helping, but when 2 women in the section she is helping spend more time talking and browsing the internet than working, she understandbly views that as taking the p***!!!!
Normally she just bites her tongue but this time she has raised it with her own line manager.
I don't know how people get away with it. I've always had micromanaging managers who interfere with every second of your day - I want one who is a slacker and lets you get away with murder!
I work for myself, so glad I don't have to put up with annoying colleagues. Though I have been an au pair in America and can hands down say the woman I worked for was straight from hell, the actual devil reincarnated but the kids were adorable (most of the time). 39 years till retirement... jeez that's depressing. Here's to winning the lottery.
