Weed identification

Can anyone tell me what these two weeds are please? They are recurring and do not appear able 
to be eliminated by hand weeding. What could I consider using to get rid of them?

Can't see the 'top' one very clearly, but the flatter one is a liverwort - it usually appears in shady damp places - it's a fascinating thing.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Top one looks like Pearlwort. If so it is a pain in the proverbial. Even the flame gun does not seem to remove it.
