What's this purple stuff

I drowned a load of perennial weeds is a big tub and left it far longer than I meant to.  When I bottled it up today there was a bright purple scum round the edge and lots of stems have got a bubbly appearance.

I think it might be slime mould but not sure and either way is it safe to use the tea as fertiliser anput the dregs in the compost bin or is it safer to chuck it all away?

It could well be slime mould - although that vivid purple looks unusual. The way it's 'painted' on the sides looks more like general bio-film but as slime mould 'eats' bacteria - it is probably both. I don't think it's harmful to plants but have no experience of it in practice.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
