is this plant Phlomis Russelliana? Or any other suggestions? Not had flowers as yet.

    It could be Phlomis.  Hard to tell how big those leaves are, in isolation...

    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    I don't think it's Phlomis russelliana, they have a very grey rough look to them and the manner of growth looks wrong. How long has it taken to reach that size?

    I can take a photo tomorrow so you can compare

    Phlomis russelliana, with one little second flowering to prove what it is. I cropped out the brambles

  • It's a friend's plant who's recently moved and asked me what it was so I cant advise any further on details except that there are some seedlings present apparently.

    Thank you for your help so far, Phlomis certainly have a more rough look to their leaves, puzzling. Primula was a suggestion too but was dismissed by friend.
