Thanks - what a great photo. Will the laurel be tall enough?

Yes eventally,  I have to say that I have a seeper hose running under the conifer that gets switched on for an hour at a time when the weather is warm and dry.  I also add a mulch of farmyard manure (the prepacked stuff) in the spring.

Verdun, think you misread the post, I advised Wakeshine to move the honeysuckle and perhaps try aucuba as per the photo.  Not on the sauce already are youimageimage

I have a very small saracocca given to me. It's only one stem long lol and about 10cm in height lol!!  I saw it growing in a wildlife centre - it was very low....I need something taller. What about physocarpus? Will that grow taller?

HS will be moved don't worry!

I will post a pic of the tiny saracocca I have later. Physocarpus not sure what variety - beautiful plum foliage - also given to me by this charity garden centre when I donated some plants. I will post a photo for Id on the physiocarpus too soon!!
