    Not too late at all to sow them, might be too early to plant them out. Timing depends a lot on your area and the last frost date. You might get more responses if you post your question as a new topic...have a look through the other posts as well, there's been quite a bit of discussion about this.

    I seem to have great trouble getting French Beans (climbing or otherwise) to germinate. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Also I have a rampant bamboo. Can I just cut some of this down and use it as support canes or do I need to let them dry out first?

    Don't keep the sowing medium too wet, or the seeds may rot before germination. I find a bit of bottom heat helps, but it isn't a prerequisite.

    On. The subject of supports, I read a very sensible idea- if you're using a wigwam type structure, don't close the whole circle, leave a cane out to make a 'C' shape. That way it's a lot easier to get in and pick the beans that have formed inside.
