Something has laid eggs in my verbena seedling

I accidentally knocked over one of my verbena seedlings only to find something has laid eggs in the compost. Any ideas what this might be or what I should do with it please?

Many thanks

They look like slug or snails eggs. So I should get rid of them quickly as  I think the adult slug/snail has had a chew on your verbena
