Rowan tree
I have a Rowan tree in my garden, its about 20 years old. The last three years the leaves have started dying early summer and the berries dropping. The bark is ok. Any idea what could be causing this please.

Initially it sounds like a lack of water and as it is still producing growth after three years of this happening I should think that the tree is ok. If it is surrounded by other plants there may be a lot of competition for water. Try giving it a good drink especially next year when the flowers are out. I only recently learned that to get a decent show of Camellia flowers I needed to make sure my trees had loads of water in the Autumn so this is one of my regular jobs now. This year may not be so much of a problem as its poured down intermittently so far.
Thank you.
You're most welcome.
