Levelling garden
Hello,
I hope that someone may be able to help me with tips on how to level my lawn area?
To give you a bit of information about my lawn, we live on a slight incline (not sure of the exact incline measurements). The end of the garden is higher than the start of the garden near the house and is completely uneven throughout. The garden is rectangular in shape and is about 13 meters in length.
I don't know whether to just hire a rotavator and start from scratch or to see if I could level it in some way. Additionally I don't know whether it requires drainage or not.

I think it would help people advise you if you post a picture or two.
Re drainage: what type of soi do you have, is there ever standing water? A bit more information would help.
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply, unfortunately I don't have a picture, though I can try and upload one tomorrow. I don't know what type of soil I have either (bit of a novice at gardening). I never have standing water at all around the house or on the lawn though,
Are you trying to get the entire lawn flat i.e. on the same level at both ends, or just looking to get rid of the humps and bumps to create a new smooth lawn? To get the lawn flat is likely to entail moving large amounts of earth even if it's only a few inches different from one end to the other. The slight slope will also possibly help with drainage.
