Blackcurrants Harvest

i have 12 Blackcurrants plants in raised beds which have provided good quantities of produce for the last three years but this year the quantities have significantly reduced. Some of the bushes have no berries at all whilst a few have very large berries. The beds are protected with bird netting and the plants look in good condition with no signs of any pests.
Can anybody provided any advice or relate any similar experiences? We do have a small grey squirrel population nearby and they are often seen in the garden, can they cause a problem with Blackcurrants?
