Stipa tenuissima
My Stipa tenuissima got hammered flat in the spring storms.
As I've never grown them before, I was wondering if, under normal circumstances, their shape is a circular fountain of hairy loveliness or do they normally lean to one side like a trump combover on a bad hair day? If this is so, I'll move them to where they can get a bit of support.
In London. Keen but lazy.

B3 - that is so funny! I just had to make a comment but I don't know too much about Stipa except it always looks beautiful
comb over mostly. If conditions are perfect, great. But conditions are rarely perfect.

Verdun mine look somewhat like the picture above but longer. Do you mean that I should place them like #we three drunken maidens# so that they can support each other?.
I followed your advice last year but overplanted assuming I'd lose stuff. Everything has thrived and I think I'm going to be in trouble next year. Hope you will allow me to bend your ear when the time comes to divide things - whenever that is
