    I think if you're looking in catalogues they may be pushing you to order now for the autumn planting times (allow 28 days for delivery etc).

    It's a bit like the Argos catalogue full of Xmas toys coming out in August, or Easter eggs at Tesco in February, the retailers are pushing for early sales.

    Ok so plant crocus in autumn then. I have picked two kinds already!

    So you cant plant summer flowering bulbs like crocosmia or gladioli in the autumn then?

    Personally I wouldn't plant either of those - as corms/tubers - in the Autumn. Definitely not gladioli as they wouldn't survive the Winter - unless you live right down in the south of England. They are better planted in the Spring. Crocosmia are flowering now so you could buy and plant a pot full from the Garden Centre.
