Composting

I was quite surprised to find out I can compost cat fur.

Smoky has had his three monthly groom and we got another cat out of him.

I've put it on the compost.

all hair can compost, you just need to mix it in with something to keep it separated otherwise it just mats and doesn't rot properly

Basically, I think anything which used to be alive can be composted, to a greater or lesser degree of success. I've heard of folk dumping woolly jumpers and cotton rags in their compost.

Georgians used to bury whole dead animals under trees.

    Devon.

I composted the innards of 6 small feather cushions from my living room - great compost!

Hahahahaha Pansyface, that was pretty much his expression when we had finished. We were both covered in scratches and bites.

Hostafan we buried our last 4 cats when they died under the ash tree and it's a very healthy ash tree. We pollarded it recently and used the logs on the woodburner. It very much felt like the cycle of life.

I'm so tempted to say it's best with the cat still attached, but I'll resist. image
