Growing for 2017! have i done this wrong??

tomatustomatus Posts: 27

Hi guys!

A few weeks ago i planted from seed: Hollyhocks, Honesty and Ammi majus. The former 2 so that I might get some flowering plants next year, and the latter because I saw monty don planting out ammi majus plants that he's sown the year before.

They are in small pots about 9 cm, and many have the roots showing through already. Some of the hollyhocks are already about 6 inches high or more.

I'm wondering what to do now... ?

did i plant these guys too soon? do they need to go in the ground, into flowering position? will they need frost protection?I'm worried the ammi might start flowering this year.

I don't know....

any thoughts?

    Honesty will be fine.

Maybe too early for the Ammi, so they may flower. I tend to sow mine in September / October.

    I don't know about hollyhocks.

    Thanks punkdok

can the honesty stay in the little pots do you think? And will they need frost protection?

I would plant them out. they don't need frost protection.
