Hi, just looked on a web site of a local company Deepdale Trees Potton Sandy, and according to info on there they say whitebeam are the first to start loosing their leaves. My maple and my weeping birch has also started to drop leaves. I put it down to the fact we haven't had much rain here, so not really surprised and I might add these are old trees and well establishe. Hope that helps.

  • Been an obvious phenomenon around here, too. Can only think it's the sudden hot and generally dry spell as new plantings I've done haven't suffered quite so much with the proper watering regime.  Two or three buckets of water on each tree (if on free draining soil, try four), should help immensely.

Thankfully both- we were thinking that the current dry spell could have affected them.
