Hundreds of years ago in my first ever garden MIL had me digging these up and throwing them out. At the same time, ignoring the ever-increasing patch of ground elder.

  • Ignore it at your peril. This year has been the year of the bindweed invasion. Locally it's gone mad, completely swamping small trees. Flowers are lovely, but do they have to be produced on such a thug of a plant?  Time for a Wisley trial on dwarf bindweeds!

I keep poking a lopper over the fence to cut off the stems of our neighbours bindweed to stop it taking over our garden.
