Jasmine not flowering/ Preparing new bed

Hi all

I have removed turf ready to make a new flower bed-should I add anything else to the soil or can I just plant?

I was hoping to avoid spending any further money on this bed but want plants to be healthy there.

Also, along that same fence I have had a jasmine plant that has never flowered but growing incredibly well, any ideas why this might be?  I was wondering if the soil was lacking something hence my oringinal question!

Thanks

If you have removed turf, the soil will probably be in need of some nourishment.  Plenty of organic matter if you have it will help enormously.  Blood, Fish and Bone is an alternative but not a "quick fix".

Preparing a good base will save you money in the long run.  No point buying plants if the ground is too poor to sustain them.

You don't say how old your Jasmine is ?  If old enough to flower, perhaps a feed may help ?  Established plants should be flowering now and for the next couple of months or more.

The Jasmine plant is about two and a half years old.  What food would you use for it?  I have tried tomato feed, not sure that is recommended or not!

    Many thanks for your help
