Clematis

screscenziscrescenzi Posts: 12

Back in May, a friend of mine gave me a cutting of their clematis that I loved in their garden.  I took cuttings from this and have 3 healthy plants about 4-5inches big now.

I want to leave them in the pot as long as possible as I want to definitely make sure they have some good roots.

My question is, when should I plant these out in the garden?  I know they will need acclimatising first but I don't want to shock them completely by planting out too early.  Should I wait until next year?

Any help would be appreciated as this is my second attempt on taking cuttings from Clematis and they have never rooted for me until now.

    Hi Scenzi,

There's a thread about clematis' grown from plugs that might be useful, I'll bump it for you.

Brilliant, thanks for the help. I've just re-potted them so will let them grow indoors now. ?

Put them outside in a sheltered spot and don't forget to water them . Plant out in the spring
